Mafia Island is one of the least visited territories and has not been waged by extensive development. Rural farming and fishing communities are commonplace. The island is actually an archipelago of islands composed of Mafia Island, Jibondo, Juani, and Chole. This island offers excellent diving and snorkelling opportunities and there are plenty of chances to discover deserted beaches and offshore islands in this small area. The marine highlights include the endangered giant, green turtles, and the docile dugong (or manatee/sea cow).
