Tanzania is located in East Africa, on the Indian Ocean, and is neighboured by Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Congo, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi. The island of Zanzibar, also called Unguja, is separated from Mainland Tanzania by a 22-mile channel.
