Amaan Bungalows Kendwa
Located directly on the magnificent beach, the new Amaan Annex Kendwa is built onto the hillside giving panoramic views of the azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Due to its prime location at the North of the island, the tide only retreats about 6 metres at low tide, so swimming is possible at any time of day. A band of coral lies about 20 metres offshore which offers interesting snorkelling, and trips can be organised by the hotel. After spending a relaxing day on the beach and swimming in the cooling tropical waters of the Indian Ocean, you can watch the sun setting over the sea, and as the sun goes down, the moon and the stars come out, creating a magical glittering canopy above you.
There are a total of 39 rooms in bungalows, in garden and sea view categories. All the rooms are basic but comfortable and include ensuite facilities, hot water showers, ceiling fans and a spacious verandah or balcony. You can choose among single beds, which can be pushed together to make a double bed, and king size beds. All beds have mosquito nets, however in Kendwa you will hardly see mosquitos due to the sea breeze.

Mnarani is based on the northern tip of Zanzibar Island right in the heart of the village of Nungwi. Mnarani means "lighthouse" in Swahili, and here on the eastern ridge of the village you will find the oldest lighthouse in Zanzibar (built in 1886) which is still in operation today.
